How do the free trials work?

There are a few ways to try 37signals products for free.

1. Sign up for the free plan. This plan is free forever but offers less functionality than paid plans. Free plans are only available for Basecamp Classic, Highrise, Backpack, and Campfire.

2. Choose a paying plan and you can try Basecamp Classic, Highrise, Backpack, and Campfire for free for 30 days. You can cancel any paying account within 30 days of signing up and you won’t be charged at all. After 30 days, you’ll be charged for that month and begin a monthly billing cycle.

3. Sign up for a new Basecamp account and try it for free for 45 days. You can cancel at any time before your trial is up, and you won’t be charged for service. After 45 days, you’ll be prompted to enter a credit card to pay for service and begin a monthly billing cycle.

Note: You need to stay on the plan you initially selected to try the product for free. Once you change your plan, billing begins. Of course, you can still cancel at any time. You’ll just have to pay for that month.​
